Mission

Our mission is to elevate parametrics from fringe to centre stage in climate risk protection.

Mission

Why is our mission so important?

The temperature of the planet is increasing¹, and with that more water vapour will evaporate into the atmosphere and become fuel for more powerful storms to develop². Economic losses from more frequent climate-related extreme weather are increasing, and the climate risk protection gap is widening³.

Climate-related disaster risk and loss data using parametrics⁴ is crucial to understanding and closing this gap. It should be centre-stage in disaster risk management, but many people still view it as a fringe approach to climate risk protection.

Given the unavoidable rise of climate pressures in the years ahead, we aim to educate and enhance our market so that parametrics plays centre-stage in climate risk protection.
