Sales of gardening equipment and BBQ supplies are negatively correlated to cold temperature and rainfall during the summer season.

Clothing retailers are adversely affected by cold temperatures in spring and warm temperatures in autumn when the seasonal collections arrive.

Sports apparel retailers suffer financial losses when the sales cycle is shortened due to unseasonal weather.

C&C on slide as sales of Magners lose fizz, Cider appears to have lost its fizz for C&C, the Irish drinks company that saw UK sales of its popular Magners brand decline by nearly a third. The company doubled capacity at its Clonmel cider factory in Co Tipperary after a boom in demand in 2006, helped by one of the hottest summers on record. But last year’s miserable summer and increased competition in the premium bottled cider category led to a sales slide.
